It has been a busy few weeks for the Maglus crew<\/strong>, we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to with you!!<\/p>\n

We were honoured to be part of Shakefest<\/a> – a vibrant, World Cultures<\/strong> Art<\/strong> and Dance festival<\/strong> last weekend. It was a special event for us as it took place in Tullamore<\/strong>, Co.Offally – the hometown of Maglus<\/a>!<\/p>\n

We wanted to put on something special for this great event<\/strong>, so we enlisted the help of some friends of Maglus<\/strong> – German iPad artist<\/strong> Benjamin Rabe<\/a> and drawing maestro <\/strong>Fabric Lenny<\/a>. Both guys do some really diverse work – iPhone art, animation, web design<\/strong> and collaborations<\/strong> with other creatives<\/strong> is just a flavour of what they get up to! <\/p>\n

First up, the guys held a small Coderdojo<\/a> workshop<\/strong> on Friday evening for a group of kids.<\/p>\n

If you’re not familiar with Coderdojo<\/a><\/strong>, it’s a global movement<\/strong> of free<\/strong>, volunteer-led, community based programming clubs<\/strong> for young people. At a Dojo, young people<\/strong>, between 7 and 17, learn how to code<\/strong>, develop websites<\/strong>, apps<\/strong>, programs<\/strong>, games<\/strong> and explore technology in an informal and creative environment<\/strong>. Learning to code and meet like minded people sounds like a pretty cool idea to us!!<\/p>\n

The kids paired up and created drawings using Tagtool Play<\/a> under the direction of Benjamin and Lenny. You can find out more about Tagtool here<\/a>.<\/strong> We experimented with it last year and it resulted in a very successful spooky night!<\/a><\/p>\n

Using an app called Brushes<\/a> – the plan was to project the children’s creations onto Charleville Castle<\/a> the following night.<\/p>\n
