Collage is such a fun medium to work with and making digital collages is really easy.<\/span><\/h2>\n

With digital collages you don’t have to hoard magazines anymore!<\/span><\/h2>\n

Collage is a technique of an art production, where the artwork is made from an assembelage of different images and materials<\/span>, thus creating a new whole. By combining images you can change the meaning of a piece. From a commercial advertisement to a statement about beauty.<\/span><\/h2>\n

In this blog post im going to give you a few helpful tips on how to create digital collages using an ipad mini, the autodesk sketchbook app and a maglus stylus.<\/span><\/h2>\n

1.\u00a0<\/span>The first thing you have to do is collect images, you can never have too many. Find different themes that e<\/span>xcite you maybe its fashion magazines, animals and space. The easiest way to do this is to google and screenshot images (by pressing the home and the power button at the same time), You can also work your personal photos in to the composition or any drawing you would like to use.<\/span><\/h2>\n

2. Remove the backgrounds and details you don’t want to keep of your original images.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Import your image into the autodesk sketch app.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Click on the selection tool, then\u00a0Select the magic wand tool.<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"\"\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Click on the area you want to delete and toggle the tolerance bar until you can select it.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Once the area is selected used the eraser tool to erase the selected area. Repeat this process with every image you wish to use except your background.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Alternatively you can just carefully erase the parts of the image you don’t want.<\/span><\/h2>\n

3. Think about how these unrelated images could relate to one another. Maybe you play with scale or function of the images you selected. Reposition and keep rearranging adding and taking away images till you happy.<\/span><\/h2>\n

You can move scale and flip images with the move tool.<\/h2>\n

Don’t forget that you can duplicate your layers, just like I did with this fish collage.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Making a symmetrical composition. <\/span><\/h2>\n

Yo can duplicate and flip layers to create a symmetrical effect.<\/span><\/h2>\n

You can change the opacity of layers to add a ghostlike texture.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Why dont work some drawing into your collage to add a little pop. <\/span><\/h2>\n
