Yesterday, 14 May, was a great day for all receptionists: it was National Receptionists Day in many parts of the world, a day to say “Thank you” and “Please don’t put me on hold, my phone credit is about to go” to all the lovely receptionists out there.
Receptionists are known for their quick-hand abilities. This makes me wonder: Could the tablet or the iPad soon replace the old-fashioned notepad? If so, which apps would be used for this?
We already know of the Goodnotes App, but what else is out there? Which apps do you use for note-taking, and why?
The Maglus is a great tool for digital artists and has brought the joy of drawing on the iPad upon many of us. Now, I would like to address all of those who use their iPad or tablet for writing, be it in work, college, or to write your own personal day-to-day diary. Tell me what note-taking app(s) you use and I will pick one lucky winner who will get a pair of brand new microfibre tips!

Carla is originally from Germany, so she definitely sees the practical aspects of the Maglus. She also really enjoys discovering the awesome things some people can do with it. Huge fan of languages, music and ardent observer of cats in and around Dublin (for lack of her own).

As a graduate student, I use my Maglus daily to take notes in class or in annotating research articles. After trying many similar apps, I found that I liked using Notability best for my own purposes. It syncs with Dropbox, allows you to write directly on PDFs, and gives a variety of blank or lined “paper” options. Another key feature I couldn’t live without is the zoom, which allows you to write at a normal size, but will shrink your text on the page to a manageable size so you can fit more where you need it. I recommend the Maglus and Notability to all iPad users, and many have taken my advice – they make a great combo! The quality and user-friendliness of both speak for themselves after just one use.

I use my Maglus to take notes in Evernote, OneNote and Drafts. I also use the stylus to mark up electronic construction drawings in iDraw and iDesign and just to type in most other apps too.
