6 free ways to support Maglus and Applydea!

The Maglus stylus has a lot of loyal supporters and many fans, the fiercest being the early adopters who’ve been part of the Maglus story since the beginning. Everyone who tries the Maglus loves it – but the tricky part is getting it in front of people to try!

We’re a small Irish operation, and it can be hard competing with big multinational companies with deep pockets and huge marketing departments – even with a product as good as ours.

We always get asked “I love my Maglus – how can I support Applydea?” so here are the top 6 ways you can show your support for a small, passionate design company that cares, by spreading the word about the Maglus.
They are all free, you don’t need to buy anything, and each only takes a minute!

JusWrite – just right for just writing!

The developers over at Plackal Tech have made a nice, uncluttered app for taking and organizing handwritten notes on your iPhone or iPad.
It’s called JusWrite – and it’s free at the time of this post – ad-supported, but the ads are very discreet on the iPad.
They call it the “world’s first stylus-based organizer” – and who are we to argue when we make the world’s best stylus!

Bloomsday 2014 – download Ulysses for free (and maybe even read it)

As everyone knows, the novel Ulysses is a masterpiece of modern literature written by James Joyce and set in Dublin, Ireland.
It was published in 1922 and it’s filled with comedy, sadness and fantastic wordplay, revealing the rich inner life of the characters as every thought (including the dirty stuff) is noted in peerlessly descriptive language.
The events of the novel take place in one day – 16 June 1904 – and every year this day is celebrated as Bloomsday, named for for the novel’s main protagonist, Leopold Bloom.

But did you know you can get the novel completely free? Later in this post I’ll tell you how.

As I was reading, I recognized many of the place names, so I took a walk around Sandymount and South Dublin City (our office of the fulfilment and customer support side of Maglus is close by, on Upper Baggot Street), and took some photos of Joyce’s Dublin in 2014.

Penultimate and Maglus – a glorious writing experience

I’ve been trying out writing and notetaking apps with the Maglus, and the second one I’ve used is Evernote’s Penultimate – happily, there’s a free version in the App Store, at the time of this post.
I am really impressed with Penultimate. Using the Maglus stylus plus original tip, and my iPad 2, the writing experience is glorious – like writing on a fine vellum with an expensive fountain pen! It feels so smooth and flowing, it’s the best app I’ve used with the Maglus so far.

Maglus stylus and Raynaud’s and Scleroderma

Raynaud’s and Scleroderma are conditions that affect the extremities. I hadn’t heard of either until a few weeks ago, but since I’ve been researching and talking to people about it, I’ve found that many people I know are affected – even some people close to me!

But what’s all this got to do with the Maglus Stylus? Well, the stylus helps those with reduced finger dexterity, which, unfortunately, is a common problem for suffers.
