Just checking in to say a little about using the replaceable tips. We have developed the different tips to give you different experiences while using your Maglus. The one thing that is common with all the tips with the exception of the graphite tip is they all use the same method of connecting to the main Maglus body.

2 blog posts in 2 weeks! Hopefully there is some info in them that you enjoy. I thought I’d check in and talk a little about another use for Maglus beyond your tablet or phone.
As a Product Designer I use a lot of various software and techniques to develop ideas. At the very early stages of a new product development, ideas are developed to a concept. Concepts allow me to communicate an idea through a visual medium. Often times this will be in the form of some sketching and then when I bring them a little further the initial sketching may be brought into a software package to help develop and polish the concept.
We know that everyone enjoys hearing about the people behind the products. So with this in mind, this week’s post comes from Noel Joyce, one of the designers of the Maglus Stylus. Noel is a really great guy and has been involved with lots of interesting projects. He’s always very busy and I’m not quite sure how he fits everything in! Luckily for us, he had some time to write a few words following his recent trip to China…
Hey everyone, Noel here – one of Maglus designers. It’s been a while so I’m checking in.
I am just back from China where when I am not doing design work on Applydea products I do work on projects at Haxlr8r, the worlds premier and best Hardware acceleration program.
One of the reasons we developed Maglus was because of our own personal bugbears when it came to using stylii. As a product designer I use a range of different tools to create new experiences through products but often times that is not enough as those ideas need to be explained. this can be done through different types of media.
I love creating concept boards and story boards for products because a single image can have a huge impact. It can really get across the experience I am trying to deliver. Recently though I have begun to get more involved in using movies to do this. This I suppose is a natural progression but it did not come without a pretty steep learning curve.
Hello – allow me to introduce myself as I will be frequenting this page every now and again. My name is Noel Joyce and I am one of the designers at Applydea. I wanted to weigh in with my role on what we are doing and perhaps give you guys an insight into the work that goes into the design and development of our products.
First a little about myself. I am a product designer which was my chosen career path after an accident seven years ago left me confined to a wheelchair and ended my career in the military. I went to study in the institute of technology in Carlow where I graduated with an Honours Degree in Product Design.
As I progressed through college The realization that it was difficult to get work as a product designer in Ireland began to become apparent and this led myself and a group of like minded designers to starting a collaborative called Designhub. Long story short Designhub has been a hotbed of activity that has allowed a number of designers develop some cool products and product ranges, one of which was the spinoff that is Applydea and the Maglus stylus which you mostly arrived at this website to have a look at.
